To Our Supporters Across Southwest Washington
In times of uncertainty, the strength of our communities in Southwest Washington shines through.
Over the past year, we’ve seen challenges – some we expected, and others we didn’t - impact our region in deep and complex ways. In each of those challenges, our communities showed up for one another, supported one another, and cared for one another.

“We saw firsthand how communities build power when given space to lead. We witnessed the creation of new advocacy coalitions, advisory committees, and other action-oriented groups that use their time to support their friends, neighbors, and even strangers in their community.”
At SWACH, we saw firsthand how communities build power when given space to lead. We witnessed the creation of new advocacy coalitions, advisory committees, and other action-oriented groups that use their time to support their friends, neighbors, and even strangers in their community. We watched as individuals gave their knowledge, strengths, and resources to support those around them. We’ve joined you in moments of joy and triumph, and others of heartache and sorrow. In these moments, I have felt tremendous pride and appreciation for each of you.
As President of the Board of Trustees, I’m proud to support an organization that doesn’t shy away from these hard topics, but instead leans into them—with humility, accountability, and a commitment to equity. Showing up for each other in these challenging times builds resiliency and strengthens our communities. Compassion, empathy and action are important building blocks for community care. Those values are what make Southwest Washington such an incredible place to call home.
Thank you for joining us in this work, and for working alongside us. Your efforts have made a difference in the lives of so many individuals. Let’s continue to use an equitable lens to build strong, resilient communities.
With gratitude,
Jackie Esperance
