Ryan Christian Carrillo February 8, 1990 – August 23, 2025

Ryan Christian Carrillo, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at OHSU in Portland, Oregon, after a courageous battle with stomach and liver cancer. He was 35 years old.

Ryan was born on February 8, 1990, in Murray, Utah, and grew up in Bountiful, where he cultivated a love for music, sports, and people. His warm heart and easy sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Whether quoting obscure sports trivia, movie lines, or reggae lyrics, Ryan had a unique way of bringing joy and connection into every room.

A lifelong learner, Ryan earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah and later completed his graduate studies at Arizona State University. He built a meaningful career in communications, most recently serving as Senior Communications Manager at SWACH, where his creativity and dedication made a lasting impact.

Ryan met the love of his life, Rachel, in high school. The two were married in 2011. They embarked on their greatest adventure—moving to Vancouver, Washington in 2019 with their child Jay. The family continued to grow with the addition of their second child, Lorenzo. Ryan's love for his family was boundless, and he took immense pride in being a devoted husband and father. His greatest joy was spending time with his children, creating silly stories and songs. He was truly the example of a devoted and loving father. His laughter, insight, and unwavering support will be missed beyond words.

Ryan is survived by his loving wife, Rachel Carrillo; their two children, Jay and Lorenzo; his parents, Kevin and Julee Carrillo; his brother Nate Carrillo (Taylor); his mother-in-law, Debbie Boman; his siblings-in-law Zack and Brittany Boman, Alyssa and Mike Ruecca, and MacKay Boman; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and close friends—many of whom became family through shared experiences and deep bonds.

He will be remembered for his deep love of reggae music, his passion for basketball, soccer, and NASCAR, and his uncanny ability to bring levity and perspective to any situation. Above all, Ryan's greatest legacy is the love he poured into his relationships and the community he helped build around him.

Ryan, your spirit lives on in the music you loved the stories you told, and the people you inspired. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
