Recognizing the recipients of the Klickitat Opioid Settlement Funds

SWACH, in partnership with Klickitat County, is proud to recognize the recipients of Klickitat Opioid Settlement Funds for 2026. Announced initially in January, these awards will support local efforts to prevent overdose, expand treatment and recovery support, and strengthen community response to opioid-related harms across Klickitat County.

The funding opportunity was guided by the Klickitat County Opioid Abatement Council (OAC), which reviewed applications and selected proposals aligned with the One Washington Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Klickitat County opioid fund priorities. SWACH convened and facilitated the process and served as the pass-through administrator and fund distributor for the funds.

This round of funding reflects a broad community response to the opioid crisis, with projects focused on prevention, treatment, recovery, first responder support, and services for people involved in the criminal legal system.

2026 funding recipients include:

  • Goldendale Firefighters AssociationCommunity Empowerment and First Responder Resilience

  • Klickitat County Department of CorrectionsMedications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) Treatment Initiation in the Jail

  • Klickitat Valley HealthCommunity Wellness Advocacy

  • One Community HealthMobile Health and Recovery Services for Rural Klickitat County

  • The Next Door, Inc.Columbia Gorge Pride Alliance (CGPA) Opioid Community Prevention

  • Washington Gorge Action Programs (WAGAP)Recovery Training and Support for all Klickitat County Residents

Together, these projects show the range of strategies needed to address opioid-related harm in rural communities. Funded efforts include increasing access to care, bringing services directly into the community, supporting recovery, and strengthening prevention work for priority populations.

The OAC also prioritized proposals that serve communities facing added barriers, including Native and Tribal communities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and older adults, and proposals that showed how the work could continue beyond the funding period.

SWACH is grateful to the organizations that applied and to the OAC members who helped guide this process. We look forward to seeing how these projects support Klickitat County residents in the year ahead.
