New Community Asset Map Highlights Rural Strengths in Southwest Washington

SWACH is excited to share a new tool developed by the Community Health Improvement department to highlight the strengths of our rural Southwest Washington region.

The SWACH Community Asset Map is an interactive, public map that brings together the assets, people, services, and community connections that matter to residents across Klickitat and Skamania counties. The map lifts up local strengths that community members want to keep, sustain, and build upon.

This community-driven project began by engaging residents through conversations, surveys, and local events. Community members identified the assets they rely on every day. The goal being to uplift the local community, grow resident power, and make it easier to find services that support health and well-being.

Why the map matters

  • Helps people quickly find local resources that support daily needs and well-being

  • Makes it easier to discover nearby services, programs, or community groups you may not have known about

  • Supports neighbors in staying connected by lifting up trusted people and places in the community

  • Encourages local pride by showing the strengths that already exist in Klickitat and Skamania counties

  • Provides a simple way for community members and partners to share information and learn from each other

How to use the map

  • Visit the map and search for assets by location or category, such as naloxone vending machines, people and social networks, or physical places.

  • Click a pin to see details about an asset, including a description, phone number, and website.

  • Partners can use the map to connect people to local services and identify opportunities for collaboration and community connection.

  • Share the link with your networks to help others access the map and add resources to it.

Add assets to the map

Asset mapping is an ongoing process. We invite community members, partners, programs, and businesses serving Klickitat or Skamania counties to contribute.
